Holy, Holy, Holy

Based on the text of Isaiah 6, this arrangement depicts a window in the heavenly throne room. It uses the tunes from two hymns, "Holy, Holy, Holy" and "The Lord is in His Holy Temple", to encapsulate the feeling of reverence and awe. Originally, this was arranged for a piano quartet to be played at a conference with the theme "Here I am, send me". An extended arrangement for piano, 3 violins, viola, and cello is also available.

Inspirational text:

But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.

—Habbakuk 2:20 (NKJV)

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,

Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

Cherubim and seraphim, falling down before Thee,

Which wert and art and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,

Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;

Only Thou art holy, there is none beside THee,

Perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea;

Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Reginald Heber (1826)
